In recognition of Tan Sri's immeasurable contributions to society and the corporate world, he was appointed a member of the Malaysian Business Council by the Honourable Prime Minister in 1995. In 1996 he was appointed Chairman of the Malaysian Industry Government High Technology (MIGHT) for Construction and Housing. Tan Sri is also very much involved in the field of education and is responsible for the founding and development of Sunway College and its Twinning Programmes with foreign universities. For his significant contributions to higher education, he was appointed a member of the distinguished National Higher Education Council in 1996 by the Minister of Education. Tan Sri had the distinction of being conferred the Prestigious "Property Man of the Year" award in 1993, and the CEO of the Year (Malaysia) award in 1996. His unique contributions to Malaysia have not passed unnoticed outside Malaysia. In view of his outstanding contributions to industry, commerce and higher education he has been conferred eight Honorary doctorates by leading universities worldwide. Yet despite his phenomenal success in the corporate arena, his heavy business commitments and hectic work schedules, Tan Sri still makes time to carry out charity work. He sits on the Board of the National Kidney Foundation and is now a member of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Liver Foundation.
We are extremely proud to have this leader amongst leaders as a Trustee. Together we will work tirelessly to achieve the objectives of the Malaysian Liver Foundation.
